It was meant to be a fun night out in Paris, but my life was turned upside down. The last thing I remembered was sitting on the chaise lounge in the ladies’ room of Étoile, an upscale nightclub by the Seine. I suddenly felt short of breath and was hit by a sudden bout of dizziness. I believed I must have had too much to drink and decided to lie down and rest for a couple of minutes. When I opened my eyes again, I was nowhere near Paris.
That night has replayed in my head countless times.
I should’ve stayed close to my friends.
I shouldn’t have drunk anything at the club.
I should’ve just stayed at the hotel.
I wish I hadn’t gone to Paris.
I wish it were a nightmare.

Book 2
concludes the story.
Suddenly…
A violent impact accompanied by an ear-shattering crashing sound jolts Iris to the left toward Thomas, but a sudden tight hug from the seatbelt holds her in place.
Instinctively, Thomas reaches over to shield Iris and their unborn child.
Before they can react to what is happening, deafening bangs burst around them, and all of a sudden, they are surrounded by airbags.
Iris tries to turn toward her husband, but she cannot move her body. Then she feels a sudden dizziness, and her vision becomes blurry…
